The RVPR Formula
And you thought you'd never need all that High School Math
While we jerked with the cables several times before the RVPR's official release date, we (and by "we" i mean people other than me b.c i really suck at math) think that we have come up with the perfect mathematical formula for determining how loyal you are to the rv.com site. For those of you with advanced degrees, that formula is listed below| RVPR = (number of comments you make / total number of comments made on the site) x 80% |
| RVPR = RVPR + (number of votes you make / total number of votes made on the site) x 10% |
| RVPR = RVPR + [10 - (the average rating of all votes left - your average vote rating)] x 10% |
| Decay |
| The number derived from the above formula is then subject to a degree of decay that is based on the time passed since the last comment/vote/page view you have made. Currently, it will take 21 days for a score (any score) to reach zero. Points lost due to decay are instantly reinstated once another comment/vote/page view is made. |
| Bonus Points |
| Additional points can be directly added to your RVPR for providing content deemed "worthy" of this site. From time to time certian "bounties" will be issued. A list of current bounties can be found here. |
